For this project we created a contemporary NW kitchen and connecting spaces. The Couple we designed this new kitchen for where gourmet chefs and loved to entertain. The floor plan was redesigned removing small office area off the entry to create a more open feel when entering the home. Designed and Build in the entry half wall with column to separate the space giving it is own entry designation. The main dining area included a new beverage/wine bar with matching cabinetry and quickly became a main hub when company comes.
Walking into the kitchen the 2’8 doorway was enlarged to a spacious 5′, opening the space even more. In the kitchen the east wall was extending to create two new spaces; a walk in pantry with ample shelving and separate broom closet. The kitchen cabinetry was specified in maple with a medium stain around the kitchen perimeter and darker Alder for the island. All the cabinetry was well thought out to provide professional working space for ease of preparing and cooking. Hardwood floors were installed throughout the house helping the spaces to feel more combined.
Another change up was the fireplace wall in the family room the fireplace was off center and with no in this main wall the room felt very dark. The new design include the perfect size windows to let in light but still maintain privacy and cabinetry was added to balance out the space. A reclaimed beam with hand forged iron was used for the mantle.
