A coastal style kitchen most often refers to a kitchen with soft, light colors reminiscent of the sea and sun. Cabinets tend to be white or light wood tones in either a very modern clean style or distressed as if the sea has aged the finish. Common wall and decoration colors include blues, pinks, and sea foam greens. Whether your home is near water or not, a coastal modern kitchen is perfect if you’re looking for a soothing and relaxing space.
Industrial Modern
Few kitchen designs are further in appearance from the coastal style than an industrial modern kitchen. Brick, chrome, and stainless steel dominate this look. The term industrial modern became popular during the building boom late in the last century when many old factories were converted into loft apartments. Developers left exposed brick, added ventilation that hung from the ceiling, and used lots of metal. If you’re starting an industrial modern kitchen remodel, consider metal backsplashes and countertops, flat front cabinets, and clean lines.
Mountain Modern
If you have views of our beautiful mountains and want to bring them inside, a modern mountain kitchen is for you. Similar to the coastal style kitchen, you want to bring the feeling of the outside into your kitchen. Consider stone accents or backsplashes, rich wood-grained cabinets, and granite countertops to complete your look.
