For this project we created a NW craftsman-style kitchen and connecting spaces. The floor plan was redesigned to create a more open feel. The entry includes a custom designed half-wall with an architectural column to separate the seating area from the entry way. The dining area includes a custom designed beverage/wine bar with cabinetry that matches the kitchen island.
Another big change was the fireplace wall in the family room. The dated red brick was replaced with cultured stone. The fireplace was off center and the original wall had no windows. The new design includes perfect size windows to let in light but still maintains privacy. Custom shelving was added to balance the space. A reclaimed beam with hand forged-iron was used for the mantle, adding uniqueness to the design.
